Nakhon Ratchasima, commonly known as “Korat” is an opening door to the northeast of Thailand. It is the largest province of the whole country.

Khao Yai National Park:
This huge national park covers over 4 provinces, Nakhon Ratchasima, Sara Buri, Nakhon Nayok and Prachin Buri, in northeastern and central regions. It is the first Thai National Park and has been given the name National Park Heritage of Asian Group Countries. Wildlife watching, butterfly watching, bird watching and trekking are some delightful activites that are well-liked. Wild animals like elephants, bears, boars, tigers, gaurs, mountain goats, monkeys and deer, are often spotted here. Some of interesting places to visit in the park areHeo Suwat Waterfall:
The water falls from 20-meter cliff creating a large swimming pond. It is a famous waterfall where visitors come to enjoy swimming among unspoiled nature of Khao Yai National Park.Heo Narok Waterfall:
It is the highest and largest waterfalls of all. Consisting of 3 cascade levels, over 150 meters, makes it quite an amazing place to witness energizing splashes of water. Because of its height and water force, large elephants passing by sometime fall death from the cliff so comes the name Heo Narok which means “Cliff of Hell” in Thai.Hin Peong Cataract:
This large cataract is a popular place for rafting. If you like extreme activity, this is your place.
Thap Lan National Park:
The forests in this park is completely well-preserved in original condition. Place of interest in this national park are Huay Yai Waterfall, a 50-meter high attractive waterfall, and Thap Lan Reservoir, a mountains surrounded reservoir.
Phimai Historical Park:
Situated in the park is a famous Phimai Sanctuary, an ornately carved sandstone and laterite sanctuary. The site is an historical significant archeological site. Phimai National Museum is located on site displaying collections of antiques like Buddha images, potteries, antique tools, bronzes, stone ornaments. These artifacts resemble the past prosperity of Northeastern Thailand.Park open daily from 7.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
Dan Kwian:
It is well-known for distinctive pottery being produced here. The long history pottery producing steps have been well-preserved and are still being used to this day. Tourists usually come to see these uniquely beautiful potteries with striking designs and cannot resist to bring them back home.
